The clump of his boots is a lot louder in here, and the ceilings a lot lower, and Jack'd feel pretty damn claustrophobic if they weren't only gonna be on the damn thing for a little while.

"This ship is too damn small," he complains, and picks his hat up off the bunk before tossing it back down again.
Could be the bitching isn't all that meant, though.

Ennis argues, much's he argues as much about any such thing. He rolls onto his side, head propped up on his hand, and watches Jack close's he can from where he is.

"Got no room," he says, and fidgets.

Ennis says, like it's the simplest thing ever and his eyes drift to the smokes instead of Jack's face.

"Yeah," he says, and opens his eyes to look up.
"Real nice."

He don't know when, but soon. Ain't like the folk from Serenity are gone for a hell of a long stretch at a time.

He says it, but it's quiet, almost whispered.
"C'n probably go back."
When, he doesn't know. But it worked once, didn't it?

"Bet Sallie'd like t'see you."

And that gets a laugh (and a cough, more coughs, Ennis' hand tightning into a ball when it don't stop).
